CIFL Results 2014

The results are in and the scores have been tallied… and the Horomaka Hamstrings are the winners of the first division and CIFL Champions for 2014. Ox-E-Gen are the runners-up, but it should be pointed out that AC United, Ilam Cherubs and Bishopdale Rovers all finished within 2 points of Oxford.

Nga Toa Whakapono held South City United to a 2-all draw in the final round and have secured the Division 2 Shield for themselves. South City United are runners up, finishing just 2 points behind.

Nampo IU are taking home the division 3 title with a whopping 9 wins this season. The runner-up, One Way Jesus FC, were the only team to beat Nampo but it wasn’t enough to stop their march to victory.

Nampo IU also win the Highest Points Trophy having scored the most points on the table in all 3 divisions and they take home the Golden Boot award for most goals scored with 61 of them hitting the back of the net.

At the other end of the spectrum, CCFC are the winners of the Old Boot Award. They managed to beat the RCC Pirates back in Round 6, but the -64 goal difference secures the lowest points award for them. In consolidation, CCFC are also the winners of the Sportsmanship Award! This prestige is based on Christian Points awarded by other teams throughout the year and is recognition that both teams played in a manner that reflects the Spirit the league was founded on. No one had a bad word to say about CCFC who emerged head and shoulders above all others on the CP table this year.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated in the competition this season. We’ll see most of you at the CIFL Sevens and prize-giving. Keep your eye on the website for more updates soon.
